Becca Posterino
Journalist, Photographer & Producer.
Becca Posterino was inspired by the New Beginnings documentary project because it offered her the opportunity to delve deep into issues of vital importance and contemporary relevance. Becca’s experience as an ABC Canberra Radio Producer and Executive Producer for community radio 2XX 98.3 FM local current affairs program SubjectACT, has enabled Becca to channel her experience as a journalist, radio producer and presenter to produce a powerful long-form audio documentary. Becca has a penchant for human stories and a distinct curiosity to unpack the social, cultural and political systems that affect our humanity and fragile natural environment. Becca lives with her beautiful husband Stuart and two gorgeous and dynamic children, Isabella and Sebastien. As a mother and journalist, Becca feels compelled to explore and question the complex yet wonderful world we live in, through the medium of radio journalism and storytelling.

Becca Posterino started her career as a photographer and travelled extensively throughout the Middle East, Asia, India, Europe, New Zealand and her home country Australia. Becca returned to university to study international studies after the birth of her daughter in 2010 and graduated with a major in journalism in 2014, just before her second child was born. Becca was a producer for ABC Radio Canberra and the Executive Producer and presenter for local current affairs community radio program SubjectACT on 2XX 98.3FM community radio Canberra, before embarking on the New Beginnings long-form documentary project. Becca hopes the personal stories shared in this documentary, will enable the audience to reflect on our individual relationship to these issues and to connect to our shared humanity.
